Use Other Door

Use Other Door was originally formed as a 4x4x5 song band by Veranika Hryn on electric guitar and vocals, and Dzmitry Zhykh on bass guitar and synthesizer. The potential was too wide to fit the 4x4x5 time signature songs.

So we were looking for more space through collaborations with other people. Trying to help them recognize themselves as musicians and escape from their bachata lives into the Room. The Room was basically the same place as an open jam Share apart from being our bedroom. Plus all the instruments were provided. Anybody was welcome to come and play.

It was a very fruitful period which resulted into several conceptual projects: WMandhalfofW duo, The Vasyls, Pink&Destroy, The Space Bullshits.

Thanks to all that we found our sound and ended up being USE OTHER DOOR — an experimental duo from The Republic of Belarus who currently reside in the United States.

“You can never step in the same river twice….. but at least you can record it”— the main conception of what we do. We no longer use the original set up of electric guitar, vocals and bass guitar. We make music using analogue circuitries, synthesizers, radiowaves, squeaky toys, lots of experiments……….,what not……. You see something — it sounds, you play it– then it plays you. “No hay banda…. no hay orquesta”, nothing is prearranged……..everything is pure electricity of the actual moment. The music is honest-harsh-electricity-ambient-drone-minimalism-Deus en machina-sound. The sound is music.

Debut album “Electricity” was released in Belgium in May 2010 by FFHHH label. We are the regulars of NYC open jam Share. Web, shows, music. Always into new collaborations and explorations of new sounds.Would like to travel across the country with the series of concerts “In search for the other door”
